Tim and Tiger's story

"Tiny Tim"  and "Tiger Lilly"

Late one night the Doctors received a call at home explaining that a stray mother cat had given birth to four kittens in the basement of an elderly woman's home and that all of the kittens were sick and two of the kittens had something wrong with their legs.  The elderly woman was not able to go up and down the stairs to care for the cats.  Dr. Jackie said, "bring them over to our house and we will foster the mom and her kittens."  When the kittens arrived, they found out they were only a couple of days old.  The box of rags where she had the kittens was very tattered, torn and stringy.  Two of the kittens, Tiger Lilly and Tiny Tim, had strings wrapped around their legs and the circulation was being cut off.  Dr. Jackie removed the strings.  This resulted in Tiny Tim losing his foot and Tiger Lilly having a twisted leg.  As far as the kittens being sick...what they were doing is spitting at humans.  They had been kept in a basement and had not seen people before and they were afraid.  This quickly resolved as the Piepkorn children and other children of the neighborhood began socializing with the kittens.  The kittens were kept until they were eight weeks old.  The mother cat was spayed and returned to the elderly lady.  The team at Westonka Animal Hospital found homes for two of the four kittens.  Tiny Tim and Tiger Lilly became proud residents of Westonka Animal Hospital.  As you can see, they are very social and happy cats!
